about

Originally part of the the "homaid" box set, "This Machine Loves: Catching Up To The Boy In The Country Flannel", this collection pairs (at the time) new & unreleased cuts with pieces culled from Hall's sophomore effort, "I Got A Little Secret Soul".

Sonically, this record is a mixed bag. There are the Mellencamp-esque dance numbers ("Guilty All The Time", "Say August Teen"), the hushed folk that Hall became known for ("Sand In Your Shoes") & the quirky pop tunes ("Ellen 18", "The Boy I Made From Cigarettes") that are the hidden gems of Hall's career.
