Oahu - I Seem To Live

from HSAL #57 - "Isolation" by Various Artists

/

about

"I always feel super calm when working on music or art, especially the Oahu stuff - it's very meditative for me, and I get lost in the moment. During all of this pandemic craziness, this aspect of creating has been very helpful.

I titled the piece "I Seem To Live" because the book nearest my tape recorder when I played this was Jonas Mekas's written diaries of the same title, and the sentiment seems fitting both to the music and the situation many of us find ourselves in lately. Plus, Mekas was known in part for his short film diaries which I feel are distant cousins of my #dailybleeps project, so it all sort of fits.

I recommend listening at a lower volume, and maybe sitting still through the track's duration. It's not very long, and you can take the time to step out of the day's rush to live in the moment."
