"Typically when there's a natural disaster you can look to nature for a warning. What I find odd about living through this pandemic is that so far, nature has not even flinched. The birds are still singing. The plants are still blooming. Our pets are happy to have us at home with them. None of our senses can detect the virus, ironically symptoms include the lost of sense of smell or taste.

For this track I used several layers of sound recorded from my home office window. You can hear the birds making nests, my neighbor raking the remaining fall leaves, a hint of me typing and answering calls while working from home, in the distance a train pulls cargo through Virginia, and an emergency vehicle races down the street. What else can you hear?

Typically I spend my lunch hour walking around the city to let my mind wander. I like to visit local record stores, coffee shops, or an art gallery. Now that I'm working from home I walk our quiet neighborhood streets, waving a dog walkers from a safe distance. Mostly I'm listening to the birds. So far they've got nothing new to say. Today I used my lunch break to wander in sound. I used the juxtaposed electronic noises to reach into the dark for some answers. What do you hear?
